![]() ![]() Played alot of Anno games, Anno 1800 is far the best of them. I give it 7/10 because I know they can do better and I hope they fix the small issues there are now. how dumb is that? While reading you get fire alarms or get attacked. no thank you * the expedition pop-ups don't pause the game. Most of the time you sit around and wait for things to happen (even on 3x speedup) * we still have those stupid "search a pixel/guy/crocodile and click it" quests * campaign is a joke, even worse written then the mediocre campaign in anno 2207 * they just rub in in your face again with another 25$ season pack right a minute after release. ![]() ) * Moving ships between old and new world takes forever (yawn.) * Speed of ships on one map is also incredibly slow. destroy the illusion pretty fast.) Con : * more clunky and even slower (!) gameplay then Anno 1404 - everything takes a click to much to accomplish * UI is terrible (especially the quest and notification bar is worse then in Anno 1404) * Buidling times for ships are far too long (5+ minutes. * new engine looks better on close-ups, but is rather "crumbly" (wants to look photo-realistic but falls right into the uncanny valley, as it overloads with the scenery with too many small details, trees popping up etc. * more clunky and even slower (!) gameplay then Anno 1404 - everything takes a Pro: * Zoo and Museum are nice additions. Pro: * Zoo and Museum are nice additions. Next time, Blue Byte, give us something new and exciting. If I want to play the beloved old formula I boot up 1404 or 2070 again, both of which are still eminently playable. I admit, I wanted Blue Byte to return to the roots too but after playing Anno 1800 all I can say - screw going back to the roots. But I doubt we'll ever get any more factions, challenge scenarios or rotating world events and the campaign will stay lame forever. I suppose the additional content that should come in the course of the next year will make the game miles better, just like it happened for 2205. On the whole Anno 1800 plays like a "best of" the previous games. There are a few new features like expeditions but they can't carry the weight of the game on their own. Problem is Blue Byte did that and very little else. After the radical departure from the traditional formula with 2205 fans were calling out for a return to the roots. But maybe that's it - Anno 1800 feels like a very safe bet. Can't really put my finger on it, it plays well and all the tried-and-tested, fan-beloved features are here. I basically stopped playing once I finished the short campaign. In fact, boredom suffused the game in general for me. Plus the campaign is even shorter than in 2205 and much more boring. Just like in 2205, challenge scenario maps, factions and rotating world events are prominently missing again. Unfortunately Blue Byte learned their lesson only partially. Unlike in Anno 2205 we got a stand-alone sandbox and a multiplayer this time around which is nice. Plus the campaign is even shorter than in 2205 and much more Well, it's an Anno game so as per usual it looks stunning. There are three main modes in Anno 1800: a sandbox mode, a campaign with a plot, and a multiplayer mode.Well, it's an Anno game so as per usual it looks stunning. The game also features new elements such as tourism. Unlike in the previous game, the combat is fully integrated into the gameplay and is not separated from the city building sessions. The game reintroduces randomly generated maps and physical trading goods that can be shipped by the routes. He or she discovers new technologies, explores the map, builds cities, factories, and farms, makes allies, and fights enemies. In Anno 1800, the player controls an island country and administers its economy, military, diplomacy, and society. The game features units like trains and cannons and takes into account such factors as workers' strikes and environmental pollution.Īnno series gameplay is a lot like if Civilization was in real time. The industrialization and rising capitalism greatly influence the gameplay. The game is set in the 19th century and explores the first twenty years of Industrial Revolution era. Unlike the previous two installments of the series, which were set in the future, Anno 1800 returns to the series' roots and is based on real history. Like its predecessors, it is based around building cities. Anno 1800 is the seventh installment of its franchise of real-time economic strategies. ![]()
